Pochin signs Cheshire East council for Crewe scheme

Pochin Developments has let 21,700 sq ft of office space at its Emperor Court scheme in Crewe to Cheshire East borough council in one of Cheshire’s largest deals so far this year.

The council has signed for the block at Crewe Business Park on an occupational lease, the terms of which are undisclosed.

Jim Nicholson, director of Pochin Developments, said: “Having secured a letting to Cheshire East, we are now looking to commence phase three, which comprises a further 40,000 sq ft of offices.”

The developer has additional development land available at the 67-acre park, which can accommodate up to 90,000 sq ft of offices.

Other tenants include DEFRA and Virgin Trains.

Cheshire East is a new unitary authority that was formed earlier this year to replace the former local council areas of Macclesfield, Congleton and Crewe & Nantwich, plus the former Cheshire county council.

The council will relocate this autumn but will continue to operate offices in Sandbach, Macclesfield and elsewhere in Crewe.

Lamonts and Matthews & Goodman are letting agents for the scheme.
