Pocket wins planning for 78 Barking and Dagenham flats

Pocket has received planning for a 78-flat scheme in Barking and Dagenham.

The development on council-owned land between Whiting Avenue and Gurdwara Way will be sold at 20% below market value to key workers who live or work in the borough in perpetuity.

The planners at Be First, Barking and Dagenham Council’s urban regeneration company, worked in close collaboration with Pocket Living.

Pat Hayes, managing director of Be First, said: “Be First is determined to deliver inclusive regeneration in Barking and Dagenham and make sure local people benefit. It’s about making sure no-one is left behind.”

The one-bedroom flats will be built from summer 2018 and be available for sale in summer 2019.
