Stoczina Gdynia of Poland is considering a bid for part or all of Kvaerner’s shipbuilding activities.
It would be the first time a company from post-community country had acquired a western European corporate target.
However shipbuilding experts have played the possibility down and the Financial Times points out that the Polish company is yet to make an approach.
