Port Loop regeneration plans submitted

Plans have been submitted for the first phase of the regeneration of Icknield Port Loop in Birmingham.

The JV between Urban Splash, Places for People, the Canal & River Trust and Birmingham City Council, has submitted plans for 207 homes on the 43-acre site.

The approved masterplan for the entire site includes 1,150 new homes, commercial, retail and leisure facilities. It aims to transform the canal area to the east of Brindley Place in Birmingham into a new neighbourhood.

There are also plans for a leisure, sports and swimming centre on Ladywood Middleway, for which a separate planning application has been submitted.
