The National Association of Estate Agents has denounced the practice of portal-juggling, when properties are repeatedly listed, removed and then relisted.
Portal-juggling cannot in any way be condoned, the association’s managing director, Mark Hayward, said.
Trading Standards’ officials have received complaints about the practice, arguing that it suggests the market is more buoyant than it actually is, and are understood to be preparing a statement.
