Redbus Interhouse has been drawn once again into the Westminster “home-for-votes” controversy because John Porter, who owns more than 20% of the company, is the son of Dame Shirley Porter.
Dame Shirley owes Westminster council £37m in surcharges because of involvement in the late 1980s scandal.
Attempts have been made to ascertain the value of Dame Shirley’s assets by investigating her investments in companies such as Redbus Interhouse.
Westminster council has obtained documents that claim Dame Shirley and husband Sir Leslie invested more than £300,000 in I-spire, an investment company that owns 4.31% of Redbus Interhouse.
However, the exact size of their investment in Redbus Interhouse and I-spire, is not known, says the Financial Times.
