Sir Ronald Cohen’s company, Portland Capital, is to launch a $1bn global real estate hedge fund with George Kountouris, former managing director at Deutsche Bank Real Estate.
According to EuroProperty, Kountouris and Cohen will aim to hit $10bn of assets in the fund within 10 years.
The fund will focus on the US and Asia-Pacific region, and invest in property firms, debt, mezzanine finance and listed securities. Activities will include real estate funds, hedge funds, commodities and private equities.
