Posh parentals members club on the brink

Maggie & Rose, a private members club for families, has shut its clubhouses in Kensington and Chiswick ahead of an anticipated administration.

The chain, which was launched to create a place were parents could drop off their children to be looked after and then work or network in the club’s bars or cafes, has instructed lawyers at Addleshaw Goddard ahead of an expected administration next month.

The company was founded in 2006 by Rose Astor, who is married to Hugh van Cutsem, a friend of the King, and her business partner Maggie Bolger. It charged £140 a month for membership at Chiswick and £210 for the Kensington club.
