Praxis to build Lancs mixed-use scheme

Construction-silhouette-THUMBPraxis has been granted planning permission for a 1m sq ft business park at Whitebirk in Lancashire.

It plans to develop a mixed-used scheme that includes industrial and distribution units as well as 35,000 sq ft of hotel, food and leisure space.

The development, known as Frontier Park, is expected to transform the 85-acre site next to junction 6 of the M65 into an “economic hub”.

A drive-through petrol filling station and budget hotel operator have all secured prelets on the development.

Construction is due to begin in 2016 and take five years to full completion with the first occupiers able to move in by the end of 2017.
