Halifax Property Services achieved a 93% success rate from its catalogue of East Midlands-based residential properties – but most of the sales were completed prior.
Of the 54 lots offered, 29 were sold beforehand and just 21 went in the room for a total realisation of £1.47m. More – over, Halifax appears to have secured better prices from the sales prior.
The 29 properties raised £956,850, reflecting an average lot size of nearly £33,000. Average lot size in the room was about £25,000.
By far the highest price under the hammer was £75,500 for a four-bedroom house at Bentinck Road in the centre of Nottingham.
Chris Cullen, Halifax’s regional managing director, claimed: “These results show that the housing market continues to improve, with a noticeable increase over minimum reserve prices.”
