Prelios names pair to board

Italy’s fund manager Prelios has appointed Alberto Rossetti and Giovanni Petrella as independent directors.

Rossetti will replace Paolo Ferro-Luzzi, who recently passed away, as chairman of the SGR (Italian fund manager).

Prelios said in a note that its board of directors now has seven members, five of whom are independent. \

Rossetti currently sits on the boards of several international banks and insurance groups and works for Rome-based Catholic university Pontificia Università Gregoriana.

He previously worked with ABN Amro and Capitalia after he served as the London Italian Bank’s general manager. He started his career in 1973 with Italian lender Banca Nazionale del Lavoro in Rome.

Petrella is a professor of economics of financial intermediaries at Milan’s Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He also sits on the consultative working group of the European Securities and Market Authority’s secondary market standing committee.
