Premier Hotels could find Easter saviour in Hermes

Simon Hermes, a member of the French luxury goods family, is in talks with Deloitte & Touche about salvaging parts of Premier Hotels, the private hotel chain that last week went into administrative receivership.

Hermes, who is Premiers biggest shareholder, faces stiff competition from Frances Accor, and Whitbread. Deloittes advertisement last week inviting offers for part or all of the hotel group has drawn 70 responses.

The group owns 11 branded budget hotels with an annual turnover of £18m, including six Express by Holiday Inn, three Howard Johnson and two Days Inn.
