Premier Inn secures deal for Stratford City

Whitbread has secured the lease for a 267-bed Premier Inn hotel in Westfield’s Stratford City development at the London 2012 Olympics Park.

The hotel will be located above the main retail mall, immediately bordering the International Station.

Ben Tooley, director in JLL’s project and development services team, which acted for Whitbread, said: “\We are very excited to be involved in the largest regeneration developments in the UK with Whitbread.

Stratford City will set the standard for regeneration projects going forward.”

Alan Parker, chief executive of Whitbread, added: “Securing this first-class hotel location is a great result.

“With our expansion over the next two years Premier Inn will have an unrivalled presence across London with more bedrooms in more locations than any other hotel operator.”

EGi revealed in November that Premier Inn, Whitbread’s budget hotel chain, was in talks to be the first of two hotels that will open at the 1.9m sq ft Westfield scheme.
