John Prescott ordered an audit team from the Environment Department to investigate the property deal which has embroiled the deputy prime minister in political embarrassment.
The team is to investigate the deal in which former council houses in Hull were sold to Wyke Property Services for an average price of £5,000 apiece. Prescott’s son is a director of Wyke.
