Presentation graphics

Just on my doorstep is the Sheffield Science Park, the second phase of which is due to be opened officially on June 19. The first phase, which was opened in early 1988, consists of an attractively refurbished industrial building which houses a number of innovative, technology-based companies. Among these is a company called Presentation Graphics who, as you might expect, produce graphic material for presentations.

Presentation Graphics specialise in transforming facts and figures quickly and effectively into attractive and informative 35mm slides, OHPs and printed speaker support material. The company uses high-resolution computer equipment and the latest software to create images of simple text, charts, graphs and symbols, including company logos. One of the main advantages of this approach is that it eliminates the need for costly artwork.

Presentation Graphics state that “from a selection of standard typefaces and library images, just about any design can be created, stored and changed at will, ready to be incorporated into present or any future presentation”. The creation of images is flexible and designs may be developed and modified on screen; consistent colours and high resolution are created throughout. Multiple options are available from one image (ie 35 mm slides, OHPs, presentation guides and speaker support copies).

One of the main advantages of the approach adopted by the company is that once images have been created they may be stored and incorporated in other material later. For example, a company logo may be used full size as the first presentation slide and then on, say, the corner of the remaining slides in reduced form, to emphasise corporate identity. Handouts may also be produced incorporating the images and logos, with spaces left for delegate notes. It is possible, therefore, to create a very high standard of presentation.
