Persimmon has appointed Grosvenor group chief executive Mark Preston as a non-executive director.
Preston, 43, who is also a non-executive director of Sonae Sierra SGPS, takes up the role with the housebuilder today (9 January).
The company has also promoted Jeff Fairburn to the role of group managing director with responsibility for group operational functions and management of the group’s strategic land portfolio.
Fairburn joined Persimmon in 1989 and was appointed to the board on 1 June 2009. He will continue as North Division chief executive after taking up the new position today.

“I’m confident that he will bring even greater focus to the key areas of strategic land and operational efficiency that are vital to the group’s continued success.”
