Preston’s 469-home resi opportunity hits market

Stoneygate Living has put its Stoneygate Central project in Preston, Lancashire, up for sale.

The city centre scheme forms a part of a larger Stoneygate masterplan, covering almost 62 acres, aiming to create an urban village comprising 1,600 new homes as well as bringing back into use a number of empty and derelict buildings in the under-used part of the city.

Plans for Stoneygate Central were approved last week by the local council, giving the green light for the development of the first 469 homes over two phases, in buildings ranging between six and 16 storeys.

The design also incorporates internal amenity space and large roof terraces alongside 8,000 sq ft of commercial space.

CBRE has been appointed to market the opportunity to developers. Buyers can acquire either the full scheme or each of the two phases of 185 and 284 homes, respectively.

Giovanni Pilla from CBRE’s residential capital markets team, said the residential market in Preston was “constantly evolving with strong investor appetite for the city”.

Will Atherton from CBRE’s UK development and residential team added: “The scheme has been designed to accommodate modern lifestyle requirements, tailored to the needs of the locality.”
