Prezzo signs for new HQ on London’s Old Street

Troubled casual-dining operator Prezzo has signed for 6,200 sq ft of offices on Old Street, EC1, on a flexible lease.

The move, to Classic House, 180 Old Street, forms part of Prezzo’s bid to consolidate various office functions, including its current headquarters at Johnston House in Woodford Green.

Terms of the lease, agreed with a private landlord, were not disclosed.

Prezzo CEO Jon Hendry-Pickup stood down from his leadership role in April after the company’s creditors approved a CVA in March, which earmarked 94 of its 300 restaurants for closure, including the entire Chimichanga brand.

Hendry-Pickup has since been replaced by Café Rouge co-founder Karen Jones.

Gerald Eve advised Prezzo, while Kontor acted on behalf of the private landlord.

Patrick Ryan, partner at Gerald Eve, said: “The dynamism of Old Street makes it the perfect location for the newly revitalised Prezzo, and the agreed lease arrangements give both the restaurant chain and the landlord the flexibility they need.”
