Prideview Group sees demand for value-add investments

Growing demand for value-add commercial investments was evident at an autumn review hosted by advisory business Prideview Group last week.

More than 100 private investors attended the event at the King’s Fund, W1, to hear market briefings by Prideview and Allsop. Prideview director Nilesh Patel said his firm had shifted the focus of the review in response to growing interest in more complex investment opportunities.

“Normally we would focus on simple investments, but now people are coming to us with a bit of knowledge and want something more than dry investments,” he said. “Often they have a residential background.”

Allsop partner George Walker encouraged those with a portfolio to consider higher- yielding properties. “If you have some of these very low yields, don’t be afraid of having a go at 10% – if you understand the asset,” he said.
