Primark is in discussions to open its first retail park store.
The budget fashion retailer is lining up a shop at football club chairman Pete Winkelman’s and Aviva Investors’ retail park development around Milton Keynes’ football stadium.
The 240,000 sq ft scheme will be anchored by a 150,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer store. Discussions are also thought to be under way to secure one or more of the Arcadia fashion brands River Island and New Look. It is due for completion in early 2012.
Primark’s portfolio comprises of high street and shopping centre stores. However, it has recently been eyeing up stores in the out-of-town sector as the shopping centre development pipeline dries up.
Morgan Williams advises Winkelman/Aviva Investors.
