Primark is to open a new store in Chicago as it becomes more confident that its growing pains in the US are over.
The value fashion retailer, owned by Associated British Foods, said in a quarterly trading update that it has exchanged contracts on a 36,000 sq ft site close to the Illinois city’s main Michigan Avenue shopping area.
“The number of people passing the front door will be huge,” said John Bason, AB Foods’ finance director.
