Prince Charles will address COP26, amid concerns that the UN climate conference in November may end in failure.
The government hopes his presence at the pivotal event will help to secure a global deal that binds the BRIC countries to a deal limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
It is believed that the prince will attend COP26 in Glasgow in person, with an address expected during the “world leaders summit” at the start of the two-week conference.
