The Princess Royal is fighting plans to redevelop a mill site on the edge of her Gatcombe Park estate as offices and houses.
The princess has made a formal objection and signed a petition against redevelopment of Longfords Mill, a 14th century industrial site owned by the Hartley Property Trust. The princess supports a separate redevelopment scheme which would develop the site as a complex with homes, workshops, offices and a museum.
Stroud District Council has asked the developer to rethink the scheme.
