Off-site housing builder Project Etopia has appointed James Pikett as development director.
Pikett was formerly head of development at Berkeley St Edward, with prior roles at Weston Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Countryside.
At Project Etopia he will be responsible for land acquisition, achieving planning consent and leading the development team.
Project Etopia chief executive Joseph Daniels said: “The research and development that has been going into our properties is ongoing, but we have arrived at the moment where we can look to expand our pipeline of new land.”
Pikett added: “It is clear that the environment and homes that are beyond zero carbon are going to come to define this sector. Helping to put a relatively young company like Etopia at the forefront of this pretty seismic shift in the industry is exactly the challenge I was looking for.”
Project Etopia was founded in 2015. It specialises in manufacturing sustainable homes, which use green technology to produce more energy than they use.
Last year the company received a £19m backing from the Reuben brothers and opened a new factory in Cheshire with capacity to deliver 2,000 homes a year.
