Prologis has signed a build-to-suit agreement with SEM, a high-tech manufacturing group, for a 122,500 sq ft freehold logistics facility at The Bridge in Dartford.
The Bridge is a 264-acre mixed-use project that Prologis is developing in a joint venture with Dartford borough council.
The new building, which will serve as SEM’s headquarters, will be constructed on the science park at The Bridge, taking around a third of the land allocated for science and technology development.
SEM chief executive Michael Laming said: “The Bridge is an ideal location for SEM. The new building will allow us to update and future-proof our processes and we are very impressed with the facilities that the development provides.”
SEM, which is moving to Dartford from Orpington, designs and produces high-quality electric motors that are used in motion control industry sectors such as machine tools, renewable energy, robotics, printing and medical equipment.
Prologis managing director Andrew Griffiths said: “We are delighted that SEM has chosen The Bridge. This facility matches our original vision for the development and we have worked hard to meet SEM’s precise requirements.”
