Over the past 12 months, Christie + Co has inspected at least one leisure business in every postcode district in the UK. Its team is perhaps the most active in the industry – not only facilitating more transactions than other advisers in the sector, but also providing more valuations and professional advisory projects.
It was this comprehensive coverage that helped the firm stand out for our judges. Christie continues to dominate its sector, said one judge, demonstrating great depth, flexibility and a thoughtful approach to its markets.
Among its appointments was the instruction, on behalf of administrators, to market the Von Essen Hotels portfolio – 26 hotels in the UK plus a hotel development opportunity. Other sales include the 188-bedroom Park Inn Hyde Park; more than 450 pubs on behalf of Punch Taverns, Enterprise Inns, Admiral Taverns and Marston’s; and 28 Paramount Restaurants assets.
Christie has strengthened its hospitality team and worked closely with a number of national banks. After a challenging period in 2008 and 2009, it reported a significant improvement in profitability in 2010.
