CBRE was a hands-down winner of this category for the second year in a row. One judge said the firm’s performance had been “phenomenal”, adding: “The company addressed all the key markets and should be applauded for carrying out most of the top deals.”
In the year to May 2011, the firm advised on deals to lease more than 4.73m sq ft of offices and to acquire a further 1.6m sq ft. In the UK investment market, it disposed of £5bn of offices and acted as acquisition agent in another £1.3bn of deals.
It advised the vendor on the sale of the 500,000 sq ft Knightsbridge Estate – the largest office transaction of the past year. The firm was also leasing agent on the largest UK deal of the period, when in December JP Morgan moved to 25 Bank Street, E14.
CBRE was acquisition agent for three of the eight deals over 100,000 sq ft in the central London office market, for Shell, Google and NBC.
One judge said: “It was up against strong competition. It has a team of real professionals looking after clients’ interests.”
