Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team had an outstanding 2011, having performed strongly across the UK retail market.
Its focus on occupiers and new strategies have boosted its market share and revenue growth across all service areas.
The firm completed 963 agency transactions, both in and out of town, and is retained by 65 retailers. It advised more than 100 shopping centres and 70 retail parks. Revenues, agency and lease advisory rose over the year to £16m, 25% up on 2010’s figure.
It also won the biggest mandate of 2011: management of the combined 800-strong portfolio for mobile phone venture Everything Everywhere.
C&W’s central London team has advised on many high-profile leasing deals, including One Hyde Park, and has seen revenues rise by 20%.
It has also helped to bring overseas retailers to the UK, securing debut UK stores for The Sting, Michael Kors, Victorinox, Metro Bank, Core Spirit, Jack Wolfskin, The Kooples, M&M’s, Eileen Fisher, Joe’s Jeans and Lotus.
“Cushman & Wakefield stood out,” said our judges. “It performed well overall, posted impressive growth and could point to some impressive client wins.”
