Manchester-based developer Property Alliance Group has submitted an application with Tesco to build a £32m scheme in Accrington, Lancashire.
The development is proposed for a site on Eagle Street in the town centre and includes an 88,000 sq ft foodstore on a 6.5-acre site.
Accrington is currently the subject of a wider masterplan being undertaken by consultant URBED.
The aim is to reinforce the economic competitiveness of the town, which URBED says has a similar feel to York and Harrogate and describes as a “hidden gem”.
Property Alliance, formed by ex-kitchens entrepreneur David Russell, has a portfolio worth £240m across the North West.
