Property companies have pledged to donate space or residential units to help the Grenfell Tower relief effort.
Grosvenor UK Britain & Ireland has pledged the use of several residential units on its London estate, while SEGRO has donated the use of an empty warehouse unit – 27/29 Brunel Road, Westway Estate – to house donations.
Other companies have also volunteered space and accommodation, according to the British Property Foundation.
LandAid is acting as a coordinating body for donations, ensuring funds and pledges made are transferred and communicated appropriately. It is liaising closely with the British Red Cross.
The BPF is coordinating residential assistance.
LandAid said it had already received donations from Knight Frank, Landsec, British Land, Grosvenor and SEGRO.
David Sleath, SEGRO chief executive, said: “Our thoughts, first and foremost, are with all those involved in this terrible tragedy and SEGRO is committed to assisting in any way possible with the relief effort for those so dreadfully affected by last week’s fire at Grenfell Tower.
“We are in touch with our customers, suppliers and counterparts to ask for their assistance, however they can help, and we are delighted to be able to support the call for donations by LandAid, the property industry’s main charity, and empty warehouse space close to the site.”
