Property companies rated among top 100

Several property companies have been listed among the best small companies to work for in the UK in a national survey.

According to The Sunday Times, 58-strong developer and conservationist Clinton Devon Estates ranked the highest among smaller property developers in the listing of the top 100, standing at position 21, and was also given the highest standing of companies making the most environmental effort.

The Sunday Times ranks companies according to five criteria: how the company feel about senior managers, how staff feel about stress and pressure and the balance between work and home, feeling about the company, how much companies are thought by staff to put back into the local community, and to what extent staff feel challenged and stretched by their job.

Hertfordshire-based property development and construction company Mount Anvil was ranked number 25, up from 70 last year. Serviced office provider Business Environment Group was ranked 52nd in the survey, and estate agency Greene & Company was at 60th, up from 79 last year.

Social landlord West Kent Housing Association was rated at position 64, and London-based serviced office broker and managed space provider Instant Offices Group was ranked 76th this year, in the first year for both companies that they had been included in the top hundred.

Property recruitment firm Cobalt was rated the third best company to work for in the country, and the best for work/life balance.

Charity Christians Against Poverty was rated as the best small company in the UK to work for.

More than 32,000 staff were questioned for the survey by the newspaper, which will publish its results for the 100 Best Companies to Work For survey this Sunday.
