Property developers express an interest in the Wallonia region, Belgium

Jones Lang LaSalle is one of the many property companies expressing an interest in the Wallonia region of Belgium. This is due to its flexible planning laws, availabilty of office space and cheaper land compared to Brussels or Antwerp.

In 1999 Namur topped the list with a demand for 12,850m² and an availability rate of only 2% compared to 7% in Brussels. Liège, with a demand of 12,000m², at least has 37,000m² of office space on the market.

It is estimated that some 50,000 m² of offices will come onto the market between Namur and Liège by the 2001-2002 period.
