Property figures make Queen’s Birthday Honours list

A number of well-known property industry figures received awards in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List published on Saturday.

Sunny Crouch, currently the project director for Capital and Provident (C&P) Management, has been awarded an OBE for services to business, regeneration and tourism.

C&P represents a consortium of offshore property investment trusts leading a £300m development opposite the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, south-east London, and are also leading Discovery Dock, a residential development in Canary Wharf.

John Callcutt, chief executive of English Partnerships, and John Spanswick, chairman of Bovis Lend Lease, have been awarded CBEs.

Richard Gooding, Chief Executive of London City Airport, currently undergoing a £40m extension to increase passenger capability from 2m to 8m by 2030, received an OBE for services to aviation.

David Michels, the former chief executive of Hilton Hotels, has been knighted for services to the hospitality industry.

Retailer Philip Green received a knighthood for services to the retail industry, an honour also received by Stelios Hajiioannou, founder of Easyjet, for services to entrepreneurship.
