Property flipping at highest since 2007

WEEKEND PAPERS: Property flipping – buying and selling a property at a profit within a short space of time – has hit its highest level in 10 years, according to analysis of Land Registry data by Countrywide.

Homes worth some £5.5bn were flipped in the year to April, the highest figure since the 2007 total of £9.6bn.

The focus for such activity has turned to the regions and away from London and the southeast – the Lancashire town of Burnley led the way in such transactions, with only two of the top 10 in London.
