Property group rescues London restaurant chain

A string of London’s top restaurants has been rescued from administration by a consortium formed by London & Henley Property Group and two of the restaurants’ co-founders in an estimated £7m deal.

The seven outlets, which formed A-Z Restaurants, have been acquired by London & Henley in partnership with Claudio Pulze and Franco Zanellato.

As well as Aubergine, the group owns L’Oranger, Zafferano, Alloro, Spiga and two branches of Memories of China.

A-Z appointed BDO Stoy Hayward as administrator last month after bankers Close Brothers pulled the plug on the business’s funding.
