Property industry guests reached deep into their pockets to raise £200,000 for the rehabilitation of Britain’s injured men and women of war.
The annual Just Rifles dinner and gala evening, on 26 October, supported by EG, saw TV presenter Johnny Gould back behind the microphone for an evening that was both poignant and revelrous.
Heartwarming talks by ex servicewoman Olivia Cox, and Corporal Ricky Furgusson, who lost both of his legs and an eye in an Afghanistan blast, reminded the gathering of why they were there, with messages about the critical role the Just Rifles Support Committee plays in supporting soldiers through post-traumatic stress disorder.
Many of the charity’s beneficiaries have competed at the Invictus Games.
Judge Rinder made a guest appearance for a second year at the event, and former X-Factor contestant Holly Victoria set the scene musically, before party band Flood the Floor ensured the night didn’t die young.
The event, held at the Brewery, EC1, was first conceived by English Rose Estates founder Bryan Fugler whose friend Lance Corporal Thomas Keogh was shot and killed in action in Afghanistan.
Curator REM, Electek, Mala, Longford Securities & Equities and Estate Office were key supporters of this year’s event.
