The fall in interest rates has boosted the appeal of property as an investment.
Analysts expect the sector to outperform equities with the big companies currently standing at a discount of around 7%. Supply and demand is also better balanced than in the 1980s, which was the last time the sector experienced strong capital and rental growth.
City offices and specialist stocks, held by companies like Minerva, are favoured to perform well.
