Property investors start to unwind contradictory Brexit positions

Brexit brings out contradictions in us all: in the 176 Tory MPs who voted to remain in the EU but now vote against moves to avoid a “no-deal” exit . . . in the Labour party leader who will not oppose a major threat to the UK labour market . . . in the flag-draped football fans who promote ideologies formed on the playing fields of Eton.

In the City, however, the Brexit contradictions are most apparent in property investors.

News of housebuilders’ strong results, and the latest commercial property fund outflows suggest the London market has been maintaining an alternative reality for much of the past year.
