Liverpudlian property magnate Bill Davies has died aged 82.
Davies had been owner of assets as diverse as the Aintree racecourse and Liverpool’s Met Quarter.
He had been involved in some controversial investments over his years in the business.
His Exchange Flags in the centre of Liverpool lay empty for nearly 20 years, attracting controversy, and he walked away with £2m following a high court battle with the city council over the Liverpool One development.
His last transaction was the sale of the former Chicago Post Office, which closed just days before his death on Friday.
