A two-month slide in property prices has knocked almost £10,000 off the average amount that sellers are asking for their homes, according to Rightmove.
The average price of a new property coming on to the market this month has dropped by 1.5%, or just under £4,500, the online home search company has found in its latest snapshot of the sector, which is being published today.
Taken with a similar slip in November, it means that house prices have declined by 3.2% since the end of October and that the average price being asked by sellers has fallen by £9,719 in two months.
