Property professionals keep on running for LandAid

More than 800 runners took part in this year’s LandAid 10K run in London. The record turnout saw a penguin, chicken and, of course, team EG, race around Clapham Common, SW4.

For the winners, it was a dramatic race to the finish, with Edinburgh-based Michael Wright of Watts Group nudging past second-placed Matthew Janes of Malcolm Hollis, and over the line to take honours in a time of 33:57.

Emily Locke of Native Land clinched the trophy in the under-45s category, while Emma Huepfl of Laxfield Capital was fastest finisher in the over-45, and fastest female overall with a time of 43:05.

The winner of the men’s over-45 category was Justin James of Bilfinger GVA.

GVA Bilfinger was the event’s headline sponsor, and its team, the GVA Cruisers, were awarded the fastest team prize.

Spratley Studios took gold in the team fundraising race, having raised over £1,500 before the event, and Jorge Mendonca of Grosvenor was crowned best individual fundraiser, having collected £1,065 for LandAid.

The property community raised £60,000 in total to help homeless young people.

Other event supporters were Burges Salmon, Capstone Recruitment, Evans Randall, Gerald Eve, The Howard de Walden Estate and Maples Teesdale.
