London’s famous 100 Club played host to the first Britain’s Property Sector’s Got Talent last week, with seven contestants braving the judgement of their peers and a motley panel of judges. Hosted by Cluttons, Property Showstoppers raised more than £3,200 for LandAid.
And the acts did the 100 Club justice, belting out rock and show tunes, battling a noisy crowd to tell a joke or two or sing a witty ditty. The close-run contest came down to a one-point difference between Cluttons’ man band Mr Meaner and show tune diva Tiffany Jones from Chapman Consulting. Mr Meaner clicked it for getting the room on its feet and dancing with covers of David Bowie and Franz Ferdinand classics.
Other highlights of the evening included former City chief planning officer Peter Wynne Rees performing a stand-up comedy routine; The Cats, from Catalyst Housing; Cluttons’ Julian Briant, who entertained with 1930s comedy tunes; and AOC Interiors’ Mark Huttlestone, who got the evening off to a musical start with a trumpet solo.
Property Showstoppers was organised by Cluttons as part of its anniversary fundraising drive, which has seen numerous events held throughout the past 12 months, including The Great Property Quiz, Residential Relay Race and the 72km Wadi Bih Endurance Relay Race in Dubai, as well as individuals’ fundraising activities.
