Proptech firm nabs digi-management deal with M&G in Surrey

M&G Real Estate has appointed proptech and services company Equiem to launch a digital property management system for its business park, The Heights, in Weybridge, Surrey.

The aim of the system will be to enhance communications with occupiers to provide M&G with data showing the needs and preferences of the business park’s tenants to help M&G improve planning for works, create a comprehensive customer engagement strategy and help with budget allocation.

Separately, the newly developed Equiem Spaces service will enable tenants to unlock value in their underused or vacant space and meeting rooms by arranging short-term rentals with other organisations at The Heights.

Equiem will also establish a click-and-collect store and provide the business community with up-to-date news and events.

It is the third such deal Australian-based Equiem has done in the UK after it launched its first UK portal at Lendlease’s £2.3bn International Quarter London in Stratford and at 88 Wood Street in the City of London.

The Heights’ current tenants include Samsung, Daikin, Sony, Alliance Boots and P&G.

M&G Real Estate asset management director Aaron Pope said: “Today’s occupiers expect well-managed assets offering new and innovative working environments that promote well-being. If we make life easy for our customers, we are essentially ensuring our assets are an obvious choice when it comes to choosing new office space.

“The introduction of these new services is a step change in the way we engage with our tenant base. Not only can we offer our tenants high-quality flexible office space to cater to all their demands, but also the necessary facilities to ensure the well-being and high productivity of a happy workforce.”

Laura Acklandiene, head of global expansion in the UK at Equiem, added: “This partnership demonstrates how the commercial real estate industry continues to turn its focus toward improving the engagement and overall customer experience for occupiers.”
