Prospect Capital and Wilcocks & Wilcocks propose new addition to Liverpool’s skyline

Liverpool-THUMBProspect Capital and Wilcocks & Wilcocks are due to submit plans to build Liverpool’s tallest building.

The 48-storey Ovatus 2 will have 530 flats and be eight storeys higher than West Tower, the current tallest building in the city.

It follows the submission of plans in late 2016 for Ovatus 1, a 27-storey building proposed for the same site near Princes Dock on the River Mersey.

The site’s official launch is expected in April or May.

Martin Wilcocks of Wilcocks and Wilcocks said: “This is a highly visible, landmark location that stands at the gateway of Liverpool’s World Heritage site.”

Craig Blackwell of Prospect Capital said: “With the city making huge strides since the 2008 Capital of Culture year this development, which holds key gateway status in Liverpool, not only changes the vista of our world-famous waterfront but is part of the city’s further expansion.”

Ascot Property Investments has been appointed as master agent for off-plan apartment sales. Planning consultants Indigo Planning are acting on behalf of the developers.
