Prospect plans 100,000 sq ft Chippenham office scheme

Prospect Land is planning a 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sq m) office development close to Chippenham town centre in Wiltshire.

The move follows the local developer’s acquisition of a five-acre (2.02ha) site from Alfred McAlpine Developments.

Prospect plans to invest £9m in its Methuen Park South scheme, which will see the construction of a number of individual office buildings of between 2,500 sq ft (232 sq m) and 66,000 sq ft (6,131 sq m).

Peter White, of joint letting agent ATIS Real Weatheralls, confirmed a planning application for the first speculative phase of 55,000 sq ft (5,109 sq m) would be made in the next few days.

“A new office development in such a prime location is certain to attract occupiers given a high standard of accommodation on competitive and flexible terms,” White added.

The development follows the letting of all eight units at Prospect Lands 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) industrial scheme on the Bumpers Farm industrial estate.

Nick Dowdeswell, of Prospect Land, said: “The success of Bumpers Farm and the development of the new business park will provide further opportunities for occupiers.”

Joint agent is Whitmarsh Preece Lockhart.
