Birmingham-based St Modwen Properties is developing a further 14,399 sq m (155,000 sq ft) for the Prudential at Pride Park in Derby. The Pru has paid St Modwen £8m for the freehold of the scheme, which will more than double the company’s presence on the 72ha (180 acres) mixed-use park.
The development will provide space for a further 1,000 staff at the Pru’s internet bank subsidiary, EGG, which already has a 13,006 sq m (140,000 sq ft) national call centre on Pride Park. The firm will move into new buildings adjoining the existing scheme from November onwards.
Pride Park’s existing tenants include David Lloyd leisure group, Bass, and motor dealerships Inchcape Motors and TC Harrison. It is also home to Derby County’s football stadium.
