The number of pubs, bars and restaurants seeking funding for expansion under the enterprise investment scheme has risen by 42%.
According to research by Radius Equity 85 pubs and restaurants used the shame last year, up from 60 the year before.
The Capital Pub Company was created by Clive Watson and David Bruce using a series of EIS fundraisings, before they sold the business to Green King for £93m in 2011. The are now attempting to repeat that success with their City Pub Company.
