Sportswear giant Puma is to relocate its UK headquarters from London to Manchester.
It has agreed a 20,000 sq ft lease at Bruntwood SciTech’s No3 Circle Square. According to the market sources, asking rents in the building are in early £40s per sq ft.
The 267,000 sq ft block, which has a gross development value of £87m, sits on the Oxford Road Corridor and forms the latest phase of the neighbourhood’s masterplan focused on innovation businesses. It was designed by Bridge Architects with construction expected to be finalised this summer.
Puma already has small presence in Manchester and will be relocating its London-based teams. The new HQ will be home to the company’s sales, marketing, merchandising, finance, people & operations and direct-to-consumer departments.
Puma joins Auto Trader, which has recently been confirmed as the first mover to the 15-storey office tower.
Lucynda Davies, UK managing director at Puma, said: “Being surrounded by strong line up of industry was an important factor, and to find somewhere in the heart of Manchester’s tech community is exactly what we hoped for.”
Josh Whiteley, commercial director at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Being the UK home of a brand like Puma will be a two-way partnership – helping support regional growth, as well as offering them access to workspace, talent and companies that will shape the future of innovation.”
