PureGym has signed a deal to lease a former Carpetright store at Unit 3 at LCP’s Gateway Retail Park in Harwich, Essex.
The gym group has taken the 7,007 sq ft premises on a lease for 10 years at a rent of £15 per sq ft, subject to planning permission for a change of use.
The store has been vacant since Carpetright entered administration in July. In July, administrators appointed CBRE to offload 239 leaseholds.
PureGym submitted a planning application to Tendring District Council in August to convert the store into a gym.
The 36,548 sq ft retail park has a total of seven stores and 636 parking spaces, with tenants including B&M, Argos and Peacocks.
