PwC has signed a 15-year lease at the £100m Central Square development in Leeds, in a deal first tipped by EG in June 2014.
The professional services firm will move 700 staff from its 72,000 sq ft office at Benson House into 55,000 sq ft at the 11-storey project, which is under construction.
Roydhouse Properties and Marrico Asset Management are development managers of the project, which will occupy the Lumiere site. The site was formerly earmarked for Europe’s tallest residential tower.
M&G is forward funding the 220,000 sq ft development in a deal agreed in November.
JLL advises on Central Square; PwC was advised by Sanderson Weatherall.
PwC Yorkshire & North East regional leader Ian Morrison said: “We are very proud to be anchoring this significant development in Leeds. The city is more optimistic than it was a couple of years ago and with cranes in the skyline there is definitely a revival in development, with Central Square kick-starting investment in the west of the city.
“Yorkshire and the North East continue to be areas of investment for the firm. Our Newcastle office relocated 12 months ago, and our Sheffield office moved to the prestigious St Paul’s Place last October, showing our continued commitment to the wider region.”
